PROFESSOR DAVID L. BARNES

​Dr. David L. Barnes is a professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Interim Director of the Institute of Northern Engineering, and Associate Dean for Research in the College of Engineering and Mines at UAF.  Over the last twenty years Dr. Barnes has focused his research on arctic engineering investigating groundwater dynamics in permafrost aquifers and transport and control of microorganisms, organic chemicals, and atmospheric aerosols that impact water and air quality in the unique Arctic and subarctic environments.
